Commitments
What We Make Matters. How We Make It Matters Too.
Cookware is used every day, often for years, to prepare food for the people we care about most.
That responsibility shapes every decision we make at ChefStead—from the materials we select and the claims we publish to the way we support customers after a purchase.
We are building ChefStead around commitments we intend to keep, even when doing so is more difficult, more expensive, or less profitable in the short term.
1. A Cooking Surface We Can Stand Behind
We believe the surface touching your food deserves careful consideration.
ChefStead uses a pure titanium cooking surface rather than relying on a conventional chemical nonstick coating.
We chose titanium because we wanted the long-term value of the pan to come from the material and construction itself—not from a temporary layer that could gradually wear away.
For us, this is more than a product feature. It is the foundation of a more thoughtful way to cook.
2. Honest Performance—Without Exaggeration
ChefStead is not a completely nonstick pan, and we will never describe it as one.
Approximately 100,000 precision micro-dimples physically reduce the direct contact area between food and the pan. The tiny pockets can also retain small amounts of cooking oil, natural food fats, or steam.
This physical structure can reduce sticking by approximately 30–50% compared with a conventional smooth titanium surface, but it does not eliminate sticking.
For the best results, we recommend proper preheating, controlled temperatures, and a small amount of cooking oil when frying or searing.
We would rather explain how the product truly works than win a sale with an unrealistic promise.
3. Healthier Cooking Through Better Choices
We do not believe cookware alone can guarantee health.
We do believe that thoughtful material choices, honest cooking guidance, appropriate heat control, and products designed for long-term use can support a more mindful approach to everyday cooking.
Our goal is not to create fear around food or cookware. It is to give customers a well-designed alternative and the information needed to make their own informed choices.
4. Designed to Be Used for Years
A pan should not be one of the most disposable items in the kitchen.
ChefStead cookware is developed around durable materials, all-metal construction, practical performance, and long-term use.
Our core engineers each bring at least 15 years of cookware design and manufacturing experience. We use that experience to consider not only how a product performs when it is new, but how it may withstand years of heating, cleaning, handling, and everyday cooking.
We design products to be kept—not quickly replaced.
5. Quality Before Volume
We understand how easily quality can be reduced in the pursuit of a lower price, faster production, or higher short-term profit.
ChefStead will not knowingly approve an unauthorized material substitution, conceal a failed inspection, or ship a product with a known material safety or significant structural defect simply to meet a sales or production target.
Our approach includes:
-
Defined material and product specifications
-
Prototype and pre-production evaluation
-
Incoming, in-process, and final inspections
-
Performance and durability testing
-
Supplier quality management
-
Root-cause analysis and corrective action
-
Review of customer feedback and warranty claims
Sales matter. Profit matters. But neither matters more than making a product we are willing to stand behind.
6. Five Years of Support
Every ChefStead pan is backed by a 5-Year Limited Warranty covering qualifying defects in materials and workmanship under normal household use.
A warranty should be more than a sentence on a product page. It should represent a real willingness to investigate problems, take responsibility for covered defects, and provide an appropriate solution.
Our warranty is supported by clear terms and a straightforward claim process.

7. Time to Decide at Home
Cookware can feel different in a real kitchen than it does on a product page.
That is why eligible ChefStead purchases are supported by a 60-Day Return Policy, subject to the applicable return terms.
We want customers to have a reasonable opportunity to understand the product, learn the appropriate cooking technique, and decide whether ChefStead is right for their kitchen.

8. Customer Support That Takes Ownership
Customer support is not only where we answer questions. It is where we earn trust and learn how to improve.

-

-
Communicating respectfully
-
Explaining the product honestly
-
Providing practical cooking and care guidance
-
Reviewing product concerns fairly
-
Following through on appropriate solutions
-
Protecting customer information

Sharing recurring feedback with our engineering team
We will not mislead a customer to avoid a valid return, replacement, or warranty responsibility.

9. Better Value, Not the Lowest Price
Titanium, stainless steel, precision manufacturing, detailed inspection, and long-term support have real costs.
ChefStead may not be the least expensive cookware available, and that is not our goal.
Our goal is to offer meaningful value: a product made from thoughtfully selected materials, engineered to perform well, supported for years, and priced as fairly as responsible manufacturing allows.
We believe one dependable product can be worth more than several inexpensive products that must be repeatedly replaced.
10. Responsible Manufacturing
The quality of a product should not come at the expense of the people who help make it.
ChefStead expects suppliers and manufacturing partners to comply with applicable labor, workplace safety, anti-trafficking, and environmental laws.
We do not tolerate:
-
Forced or bonded labor
-
Human trafficking
-
Unlawful child labor
-
Physical abuse or coercion
-
Retention of workers’ identity documents
-
Unlawful recruitment fees
-
Retaliation against good-faith reporting
As we grow, we intend to strengthen supplier verification, documentation, training, monitoring, and accountability.

11. Transparency About Materials
Customers should be able to understand what their cookware is made from.
We seek to provide clear information about product construction, including the pure titanium cooking surface, stainless steel structure, stainless steel handle, and stainless steel lid.
We also provide disclosures required under California AB 1200 concerning intentionally added chemicals in applicable cookware components.
The fact that a common metal appears on a regulatory disclosure list does not by itself mean that a product is unsafe. We aim to provide accurate context rather than using legal disclosures to create unnecessary fear.

12. Fewer Products Thrown Away
Our first environmental commitment is durability.
Manufacturing, packaging, shipping, replacing, and disposing of products all use resources. Extending the useful life of cookware can reduce unnecessary repetition of that cycle.
We encourage customers to:
-
Maintain and continue using the product when practical;
-
Seek warranty assistance for qualifying defects;
-
Reuse or donate safe, functional cookware; and
-
Recycle metal components through an appropriate local facility at the end of their useful life.

13. Respect for Privacy and Security
Customers should not have to exchange unnecessary personal information for a good cooking experience.
Current ChefStead cookware is not internet-connected, does not require an app, and does not collect or transmit cooking data.
For information submitted through our website, we seek to collect only what is reasonably necessary, protect it appropriately, and use it in accordance with our published policies.
We also maintain a channel for the responsible reporting of potential website vulnerabilities.

14. Continuous Improvement
No product, process, or company is beyond improvement.
We will continue learning from:
-
Engineering and materials research
-
Product testing
-
Manufacturing experience
-
Customer questions
-
Warranty claims
-
Reviews and cooking results
-
Supplier performance
-
Changes in applicable standards and laws
When evidence shows that something should be improved, we will take it seriously.
The Commitment Behind ChefStead
Fifteen years in this industry taught us how easy it is to make a cheaper pan.
ChefStead was created to do something more meaningful with that experience.
We want to build cookware that respects the food being prepared, the people using it, the people making it, and the resources required to produce it.
We know this path is harder.
We also believe it is worth taking.
Cook with greater confidence. Buy with greater intention. Keep it longer.
