Recycling and Disposal

Recycling & Responsible Disposal

Designed to Last. Handled Responsibly at the End.

At ChefStead, we believe the most responsible product is one that does not need to be replaced frequently.

Our cookware is made with durable materials and designed for years of dependable use. Before recycling or disposing of your ChefStead cookware, please consider whether it can be repaired, passed on, donated, or given a new purpose.

Before You Dispose of Your Cookware

If your ChefStead product develops a structural or functional issue within five years of purchase, please contact us before discarding it. The product may qualify for service under our 5-Year Limited Warranty.

When contacting us, please provide your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographs of the product.

Do not dispose of the product while a warranty claim is being reviewed unless ChefStead instructs you to do so.

Reuse Comes First

If your cookware remains safe and functional but you no longer need it, consider:

  • Giving it to a family member or friend

  • Donating it to a local charity or community organization

  • Offering it through a local reuse or resale program

  • Repurposing it for an appropriate non-cooking household use

Please clean the product thoroughly before donating or passing it on. Do not donate cookware that is cracked, structurally damaged, unstable, or otherwise unsafe to use.

Recycling the Pan

ChefStead cookware contains valuable metal materials, including titanium and stainless steel. Depending on local recycling capabilities, these materials may be recoverable through a scrap-metal recycler or municipal metal collection facility.

Cookware is not accepted in every curbside recycling program. Before placing a pan in a household recycling bin, contact your local recycling provider and confirm that it accepts cookware or mixed-metal household items.

For the best chance of responsible recovery:

  1. Clean the pan and remove all food and oil residue.

  2. Allow it to dry completely.

  3. Contact a local scrap-metal recycler, household recycling center, or municipal waste authority.

  4. Describe the item as metal cookware containing titanium and stainless steel.

  5. Follow the facility’s preparation and drop-off instructions.

Do not attempt to cut, grind, drill, burn, or forcibly separate bonded, welded, or riveted components. These actions may cause injury and are not necessary unless specifically requested by a qualified recycling facility.

Recycling the Stainless Steel Lid

The ChefStead lid is made from stainless steel and may be accepted by a scrap-metal recycler or municipal metal collection facility.

Before recycling:

  1. Clean the lid and remove all food and oil residue.

  2. Allow it to dry completely.

  3. Contact your local scrap-metal recycler or municipal recycling provider.

  4. Confirm that it accepts stainless steel cookware and lids.

  5. Follow the facility’s preparation and drop-off instructions.

Do not place the lid in curbside recycling unless your local program specifically confirms that stainless steel cookware is accepted.

Do not attempt to cut, drill, grind, or forcibly remove welded, riveted, or permanently attached components. A qualified recycling facility can determine the appropriate processing method.

Recycling the Packaging

ChefStead packaging should be separated by material whenever practical.

Paper and Cardboard

Paperboard boxes, cardboard shipping cartons, paper manuals, and paper inserts may be recyclable where accepted.

Before recycling:

  • Remove food, oil, and other contamination.

  • Flatten boxes to save space.

  • Remove non-paper components when required by your local recycling program.

  • Keep paper and cardboard clean and dry.

Plastic and Protective Materials

Plastic bags, films, foam, molded inserts, and other protective materials may require separate recycling or disposal.

Plastic film and bags are often not accepted in curbside recycling, even when they display a recycling symbol. Check with your local recycling provider or an appropriate store drop-off location before recycling them.

A recycling symbol indicates the type of material. It does not guarantee that the item is accepted by every local recycling program.

If Recycling Is Not Available

Recycling rules and facilities vary by city, county, and state. If no appropriate recycling option is available, follow the disposal instructions provided by your local waste authority.

Never abandon cookware in public areas, dispose of it in nature, or burn it. Burning cookware or packaging may release hazardous fumes and is not an appropriate disposal method.

Acceptance requirements vary. Please confirm directly with the selected facility before traveling to a drop-off location.
